  报告摘要:We study the blow-up mechanism of solutions to a class of quasilinear dispersive equations. The dynamics of the blow-up quantity along the characteristics involve delicate interactions between the solution u and its gradient u_x, as well as some nonlocal effects. We employ a refined analysis on the evolution of certain combination of u and u_x to derive some exact blow-up criteria. Such criteria highlight a very non-diffusive character of the problem: even extremely localized information about the data is enough to lead to finite-time blow-up of solutions.

  嘉宾简介:陈明,2007年博士毕业于美国布朗大学,现工作于美国匹兹堡大学数学系。陈教授的研究方向是偏微分方程理论及其应用,特别地,在水波方程、Camassa-Holm 方程、Boussinesq方程等数学理论方面取得了一系列原创性工作,是国际上著名的水波方程研究领域的专家。已在Comm. Math. Phys.、Adv. Math.、J. Funct. Anal.、Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal.、Math. Ann.、SIAM J. Math. Anal.、Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.、J. Differential Equations、J. Math. Fluid Mech等国际著名杂志上发表文章近30篇。
